Bildrite Sheathing Breathes
It helps you build a safer wall system. Moisture induced damage
in walls has become a serious issue. It has been found that humid
air from the inside of a home, in cold weather, can penetrate an
exterior wall cavity year after year, causing rot and even structural
damage. Our fiberboard sheathing breathes and lets moisture out
of the wall cavity to minimize the risk of damage.
The degree to which a material allows water vapor flow through is
called permeability. The rate at which water vapor can escape outwards
from a wall cavity is crucial to the safety of the wall and is a
function of the permeability of the wall assembly, particularly
the sheathing. The longer the wall cavity remains at high moisture
content, or damp, the more likely that rot, mold and mildew can
gain a foothold. Highly permeable sheathing systems built with Bildrite
fiberboard sheathing, allow walls to dry more quickly and reduce
the potential for decay. Some popular sheathing materials have
such low permeability that they act like vapor barriers. Not

Insulates
- Saves Energy
Bildrite sheathings are made of tough, interlocking, hearty,
northern wood fibers integrally treated for high moisture resistance
and formed into strong, rigid sheets. Entrapped air provides effective
energy saving insulation. Bildrite structural sheathings provide
an R-Value of 2.06, BraceRite structural sheathings provide an R-Value
of 1.2, and Graylite regular sheathings provide an R-Value of 1.32.

Environmentally
Friendly
Bildrite is very cognizant of its reputation not just from a quality
standpoint, but also from a "good corporate citizen" standpoint.
With "green building" becoming ever more prevalent in
the minds of consumers and builders alike, take note that as a major
user of recyclable paper and cardboard, Bildrite is environmentally
friendly. Aspen, known as a self-generating species in abundant
supply, is the main fiber source for Bildrite's products. Also,
Bildrite sheathing is a full dimension product so there is less
waste generated by the builders.

Consistent
Pricing
Inconsistent pricing ultimately costs you margin. International
Bildrite has worked hard over the years to offer you more consistent
pricing from week-to-week and month-to-month than you'll find from
most other sheathing products.

Save
on Building Paper Costs
International Bildrite Sheathings are considered, by ICBO, Evaluation
Report #3567, to be "water repellent panel sheathing,"
and as such do not require building paper or it's equivalent, unless
required by local building codes.

Compliance
and Specifications
Bildrite structural fiberboard products comply with code requirements
of the American National Standard ANSI 194.1 - ASTM C208, C209 cellulose
fiberboard and are AHA third party certified. Fiberboard sheathing
when used structurally must have either a grade mark or third party
certification stamped on the board to be in compliance with the
Uniform Building Code.
Bildrite roof products comply with code requirements of the American
National Standard ANSI 194.1 - ASTM C208, C209. RoofRite 1/2"
roof insulation products are AHA third party certified, CAN/CSA
listed, U.L. listed and F.M. approved. (See technical data section
for more information on certification for both RoofRite and Roof
Board.)
Bildrite specifications exceed the demands to which other sheathing
may not comply.
